Green and Sustainable During his college days, Peeyush worked for the Recycling and Education project at the Urban Studies program in Portland State University (PSU) for 3 years where he and a team of people educated residential neighborhoods on recycling and provided statistical data to aid in creating sustainable urban communities.At OnSumaye, Peeyush has brought what he has learned in the past and applies it in the business. Our office has windows on four walls and we utilize natural light as much as possible. Additionally, we have half the number of ceiling lights than a normal corporate office in Delhi to reduce energy consumption. All our computers are configured with appropriate power management setting. Company provides a 3-wheeler taxi which runs on compressed natural gas (CNG) to take employees from the office to couple of bus stands to promote mass transportation. About 75% of our employees either use mass transportation or a 2-wheeler (scooter, motorcycle) to come to work, keeping cars off the road. The following are the green projects we have exerted so far :- Earthsite, which defines a new type of website; one powered by renewable energy and promoting sustainability values. Power Down for the Planet a challenge program designed to encourage universities and their campus communities to reduce their own IT power consumption and get their students, faculty, and staff involved in the fight against climate change. Climate Savers Computing, which aims to promote development, deployment and adoption of smart technologies that can both improve the efficiency of a computer′s power delivery and reduce the energy consumed when the computer is in an inactive state. Additionally, the company is actively contributing to local organization to help the needy through toy drives and donations. |
